Batch generation & consistency assets

Keep the same face and background across cuts with character, location, and prop assets.

Set your character, location, and prop assets up front, and batch generation draws every cut with the same face and background. Leave the assets empty and each cut's face drifts a little — filling in the assets first is the key to consistency.

  1. Three asset categories

The asset row at the top is split into three categories: characters, backgrounds, and props. When you analyze a script, the assets that appear are picked up into this row automatically.

  2. Fill the empty slots (+)

Assets without an image show as empty slots (+). Click a slot to upload an image, or drag one onto the slot. Setting the assets first keeps the same face and background across every cut.

  3. Two meanings of ✕

The ✕ on a filled asset only clears the image, returning it to an empty slot (the asset stays). The ✕ on an empty slot deletes the asset itself (undoable).

Worth noting: Pressing ✕ on a filled asset does not remove the asset — it returns it to an empty slot. To remove an asset entirely, first clear the image to make it an empty slot, then press the ✕ on that empty slot.

  4. Import assets from another project

The import button at the right of the asset row pulls assets from another project. If an asset with the same name already exists, no new slot is created — the image fills that existing slot (skipped if it already has an image). Handy for reusing a character sheet across episodes.

  5. Reference an asset on a cut

With a cut selected, clicking an asset toggles it as a reference for that cut. Once referenced, an ‘{{n}} asset refs’ badge appears on the bottom prompt bar, and generating or editing that cut references the asset.

  6. Batch generation does assets first

Press ‘Batch generate’ and Plotr creates any image-less assets first, then draws the cuts (‘No consistency assets yet — creating them first’). Locking the assets before the cuts keeps faces and backgrounds from drifting.

Worth noting: Batch generation submits the cuts to a job queue — once submitted, the cuts fill in as they finish even if you close the tab (up to 3 at a time, the rest wait). Press Esc mid-run to stop submitting.
