Bubbles, effect lines & SFX

Add dialogue bubbles, focus/speed/fall/flash lines, and sound effects.

Once a cut has an image, add dialogue bubbles, effect lines (focus / speed / falling / flash), and sound effects right on top of the cut. Bubbles are handled directly on the cut — no separate window.

  1. Add all bubbles at once

    Once every cut has an image, press ‘Bubbles’ in the bottom toolbar. Each cut's dialogue and narration turn into bubbles and go on automatically.

    Worth noting: Bubbles only appear on cuts that have an image. In text-conti (pre-image) state, the action summary and dialogue show only as a text preview inside the cut — generate the image first, then press ‘Bubbles’.

  2. Edit right on the cut

    Bubbles are handled directly on the cut — drag to move, double-click to edit the text. When the cut gets bigger the bubbles scale up with it, and bubbles that spill past the cut lines still show.

  3. Edited lines survive regeneration

    When you edit a bubble's text on the cut, that change is also written back into the source dialogue. So even if you ‘Delete bubbles’ and regenerate with ‘Bubbles’, your most recently edited lines are kept.

  4. Cut Bubbles & Effects section

    Select a specific cut and the ‘Cut Bubbles & Effects’ section opens in the right layer panel. Use ‘Add Speech Bubble’ for an empty bubble, plus the 4 effect lines (Focus / Speed / Falling / Flash) and sound-effect presets (bang!, crash!, etc., or ‘＋ Custom’ to type your own).

  5. Toggle cut lines & width

    Use ‘Cut lines’ in the bottom toolbar to turn the black panel borders on and off across all cuts. The width control next to it adjusts the thickness — applied to every cut that has lines on.

  6. Delete all bubbles

    ‘Delete bubbles’ in the bottom toolbar removes the dialogue/narration bubbles on every cut at once (effect lines and sound effects stay). After a big rewrite, clear them and re-add with ‘Bubbles’ for a clean pass.

    Worth noting: ‘Delete bubbles’ clears bubbles on all cuts, not just the selected one. To remove a single bubble, use the ✕ on the bubble itself or in the ‘Cut Bubbles & Effects’ list.
