Script analysis → batch generation
Paste a script, split it into cuts, and draw all the empty cuts at once.
With just a script, Plotr Canvas takes you all the way to a cut-by-cut storyboard. The flow: paste the script -> pick a format -> split into cuts -> fill in the assets -> draw every empty cut at once.
Paste your script
In Plotr Canvas, open ‘Create cuts’ and paste your script into the ‘Script’ tab. You can copy the sample script above and follow along.
Worth noting: If your script has cut numbers ([Cut 1], 1., etc.), Plotr follows that split as closely as it can; without numbers, the AI splits it into cuts on its own to fit the direction. To control the breaks yourself, add markers like [Cut 1].
Pick a format
Below the input, choose a ‘Format’. Each format changes how the script is analyzed — ‘Webtoon’ for vertical scroll, ‘Panel comic’ for 1:1 / strip, ‘Video keyframes’ or ‘Video storyboard’ for film boards. The Samsaegi insta-toon sample fits ‘Panel comic’.
Generate text conti
Press ‘Generate text conti’ and the script splits into cuts. Each cut gets an action summary and dialogue pulled out automatically, and cuts without an image yet still stack up as previews in the left cut strip.
Fill in the empty asset slots
After analysis, the asset row at the top holds characters, locations, and props as empty slots (＋). Click to upload an image or drag one in. Setting the assets first keeps the same face and background across every cut.
Worth noting: You can move on with the slots still empty — if an asset has no image, Plotr generates the assets first and then draws the cuts, so consistency still holds. But if you have a specific face or background in mind, filling it in yourself is the sure way.
Generate all empty cuts
Press ‘Generate all empty cuts’ and every cut without an image is drawn at once. Cuts that already have an image are left untouched.
Worth noting: Batch generation submits the cuts to a job queue — once submitted, the cuts keep rendering and fill in as they finish even if you close the tab (up to 3 at a time, the rest wait). Press Esc mid-run to stop submitting. Bubbles go on after the image exists — once the cut images are in, add them all at once with the ‘Bubbles’ button (batch from dialogue/narration).
