Plotr Canvas basics

Generate, edit, and restyle on the layered canvas.

Plotr Canvas is an infinite canvas where you work in layers. You only need the four-zone layout, the bottom prompt bar, and a few layer basics and shortcuts.

  1. The four zones

    The screen has four zones: ① top = consistency assets (characters / backgrounds / props), ② left = the cut strip (storyboard, vertical), ③ center = the infinite layer canvas, ④ right = the layer panel + library (each collapsible).

  2. The bottom prompt bar

    The prompt bar below the canvas changes role by context — nothing selected means ‘Generate’, one layer selected means ‘Edit’, two or more selected means ‘Generate from refs’ (compositing in the numbered order). Next to it you pick the image model (Nano Banana 2 / Nano Banana Pro / GPT Image), aspect ratio, and art style. With a single layer selected, ‘Change Style’ also appears — it keeps the composition and redraws in the new style.

  3. Layer basics

    Move a layer by dragging, and resize/rotate it with the corner handles. Duplicate is Ctrl+D, delete is Delete. The right layer panel also handles reordering, renaming, opacity, and blend mode.

    Worth noting: Using a tool like select, crop, or liquify on a rotated layer brings up a ‘Bake the rotation into the image and continue?’ prompt — that's normal. Confirming bakes the rotation into the pixels (the shape stays the same) so you can keep using the tool. Ctrl+Z undoes it.

  4. Everything connects by dragging

    The four zones connect by dragging. Drag an image you made on the canvas onto a left-side cut to fill it, and drag an asset or library thumbnail onto the canvas to add it as a layer. You can also drag a canvas layer onto the assets or library to save it.

  5. Key shortcuts

    Arrow keys = move 1px (Shift = 10px), H = hand (pan) tool, Ctrl+Z = undo (Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y = redo), Ctrl+0 = zoom to 100%. Also Ctrl+C/V/D = copy/paste/duplicate, Ctrl+A = select all, F = flip horizontally.
